Hey there, I’m Ashleigh
I’m (probably) a know-it-all with a desire to share everything I know with others. I don’t know if those qualities would make me a natural born teacher but they were helpful qualities when I was teaching.
Between pursuing my degree in Creative Writing and being the president of the online writing club at my university and teaching middle school English, I discovered that I also love helping others write the stories they can’t get out of their head.
I loved helping writers crack their plot code, figure out the character flaws, and create that beautiful ending that brought all the pieces together. With my middle schoolers, I loved showing them that writing wasn’t the bane of their existence and something that could be fun.
Now, I’m in a season of my life where I can focus and pursue my writing, so I am doing just that. I’m writing books. I’m working on a local magazine. I’m writing as fast as I can and writing everything I can think of. My love for helping writers is still there though, hanging out, wanting to connect with writers and have writing community.
Writing clubs shouldn’t be something only colleges have. I hope to create a writing community that equips and inspires writers to write well. Let’s put together a real world writing club—all you have to do is write.
To adults, I’m still young. To my former students, I’m a fossil. Regardless of wherever I actually fall, I have a lot of experience. I have life experience and the academic kind of experience—I have a deep well to draw from. I hope my sharing can inspire you to write no matter where you are in life or your current circumstances.
If you have a story you want to write, you’ve come to the right place.
Write like you mean it.
